Can anybody in the UK recommend an effective and good weight loss/control complete dry dog food?

My dog is on the science plan. He seems to enjoy it and the vet recommended it.Can anybody in the UK recommend an effective and good weight loss/control complete dry dog food?
i feed my dog healthy options, it was recommended to me and all my friends use it for there dogs, cats and rabbits! its a natural food, they only need a small amount as its not full of bulking agents that commercial food has...this leads to very small amounts of poo!!! a welcome bonus to dog owners. also reduces moulting, bad breath and itchy skin. i sound like a sales person..but it really is very good. i get a big sack it costs about 30 pounds and lasts for about 3-4 months depending on size of dog. try www.healthyoptionpetfood.co.uk or there number is 01282 871611 and they deliver all round the country free of charge. Can anybody in the UK recommend an effective and good weight loss/control complete dry dog food?
almost any complete kibble should be fine. Depending on the size of the dog get one with large chunks so he has to work hard at eating and not gobble it all down. Then you have to stop giving titbits and snacks and treats. Try giving chunks of raw carrot as a treat if you must. And just like humans, balance diet with more excersize. It won't lose any weight if it doesn't get enough excersize.
Feeding a dog dry food is the canine equivalent of feeding your child from the local ';take away';, it's quick convenient and apparently cheap, but it's NEVER going to be healthy. Please, do your your dog a favour. Do some proper investigation about ';species appropriate food';. Disregard most vets and ALL commercial dog food producers adverts.

This is as good as any place to start.

Hi there,

I can't recommend a particular complete dry dog food product, but if you check out the following link it may give you an idea what is available out there in regards to weight control for your dog. Hopefully one of them should suit your dog needs.

The brand that most vets would tell you to use is hills prescription diet. this comes in wet %26amp;dry and you can get this at pets at home in your area or look on Hillspet.com
Last time I bought dog food in the UK, James Wellbeloved was by far the best. They have a website, and their food is usually stocked in most independent pet shops.
Speak to the vet with the breed they will know what diet is most suited to your dog. people often put there dogs on the wrong diet and they dont realise but they are actually starving the dog. The vet will know and should be willing to help.
