Birth Control=Loss of sex drive?

I've been taking Yasmin Birth Control for over 2 years now... and it seems like my sex drive has decreased considerably since I've began taking it (compared to when I was not on it). Also- it seems like I lack a lot of emotion while on Birth Control. I'm not sure if its worth going off of it for a while- or if it will even solve the problem. Could this be a hormonal problem that comes along with taking birth control? Also, I'm not really comfortable talking with my doctor about switching birth controls when I'm not 18 and its awkward enough talking about it with the Dr. as it is (let alone talking about my sex drive). One common problem that happens is this. I have been there and done that. You have to figure out what it is first that is destroying your sex drive. If your on medication like birth control or anti-depressants that is something to think about and do research on. Other then that it could just be stress, maybe the kids, really anything that makes your life stressful can do this and lower the libido.

man me too my sex drive is gone idk if its from the birthcontrol or the obgyn that pap smear hurt so bad after that i havent had a sex drive that was like 4 days ago and im usually horny 24/7. I dont really have emotions neither im carefree ive been on yaz for 2 months
It's common to have decreased sex drive with birth control pills. You need to learn how to talk to the doctor. If you are old enough to go on birth control and have sex, you are old enough to be an adult about it and talk to the doctor about any issues that come up.
Birth control of any type can lower your sex drive if you don't like it I suggest you stop taking it and give your body time to heal and recover it could take 18 months to 3 years for it to fully get out of your system every woman is different it may get out your system sooner or it may take a while I used to be on birth control and let me tell you not a good thing it did the same to my sex drive and now I can't even feel any pleasure like I used to befor I was on it you should ask your doctor to give you hormone replacement pills to fix this problem even if you are not 18 and do not like the way it has changed your body the doctor should not refuse you anything if you are concerned
