Gun control and other loss of Liberties?

I am for some gun control, but I also believe in the Constitution. I can be convinced that in order to preserve the Constitution, there should be less rules restricting them..granted it would take some debate, but the Constitution comes 1st. My question is: how can a Conservative use the Constitution to ensure the right to bear arms and be OK with the government reducing any citizen's rights in order to combat terrorism. How can they be so rightious about one article of the Constitution and decide other articles have less importance and call themselves patriots? How can a Conservative support what the Patriot Act can do to our liberties? Is one freedom less important than another?Gun control and other loss of Liberties?
As long as you are on the ';good side'; of the fascists, you will support anything the fascists do. Look what happened in Nazi Germany.Gun control and other loss of Liberties?
When the second amendment was written, men were allowed to have their own guns for hunting. Smith and Wesson were unknown at that time, there were no Saturday Night Specials, and there certainly weren't any high-power rifles with scopes!

That being said, liberals won't be happy until only criminals and their own security has guns and the rest of the country's citizens are sitting ducks.
Let me ask you something...

In our society, we readily accept the notion of ';controls'; over many things, in the name of public safety.

We accept ';controls'; on food and drugs, in the name of quality.

We accept ';controls'; over motor vehicles and traffic in the interest of public safety.

We accept things like OSHA regulations to both educate the employee and protect him against unscrupulous or careless employers.

What's your problem with controls over guns; tools whose only purpose is to kill other human beings????
Our country is on the fast track to socialism or communism. We have almost no freedom or rights anymore. Everything and everyone is monitored and controlled.
