If roters don't get replaced, could it cause loss of control?

My car shimmies %26amp; shakes badly at certain times, or at certain speeds when I press the brakes. I know it's roters %26amp; they need turning or replacing but this is the worst I've ever experienced %26amp; have to travel 1.5 hours Sunday (up, over, then down a mountain) %26amp; don't have time / money to get them fixed.

So.........j ust wondering, when roters are causing so much wobble it makes the steering wheel shake %26amp; you can feel it in the floorboard %26amp; your seats.... could I ruin my brakes or lose control of the car or something? If roters don't get replaced, could it cause loss of control?
In worn out rotors, with the calipers pressing the brake pads into each other (at each application of the brakes) there are chances that the rotor may wear out completely and the calipers could destroy the suspension. It will smash the kingpin, destroy the axle/bearings, break out the tyre assembly and much more. Best would be to replace the rotors at once.

Other undue wobbles could be caused by worn out and/or unbalanced tyres. You might as well check and balance your tyres. If roters don't get replaced, could it cause loss of control?
It's possible. There may be another item in your suspension system causing the problem such as a bushing being broken on your stabilizer bar. That would cause you a lot of wobble and some control loss. Replace the rotors yourself as soon as possible. Personally I wouldn't feel comfortable driving like that for fear of an accident, but I have pushed my cars to the limit when I was younger.

Also, you'll need an alignment done now that things have gone this far to fix the problem.
You could cause a lot more damage, and if the brakes are that bad you could lock up a caliper and get stuck.

You are sure you pads are OK? If not then, maybe you could just install some new cheap pads. Then in few weeks replace the rotors.

Just wear thick soled shoes, a la Fred Flintsone, or be ready to use the parking brake.

bad rotors can ruin brake pads and cause your car to shake, which could loosen up parts of the suspension. For their importance, rotars are not that expensive to replace, and is a preventative maintenance measure that is worth keeping an eye on.
Yes! This is very unsafe to drive! If you dont get it fixed soon it will cost you more!
ive seen rotors shatter with some nasty consiquences...change them asap.
