What is ';loss of muscle control';?

it may seem straightforward, but i dont really know what happens when u lose muscle control...is it when it acts on its own involuntarily or your muscles just die out? thanks for the helpWhat is ';loss of muscle control';?
Think about it like this, some older people lose the ability to hold it when they have to urinate. Most of the time is is due to the nerves being damaged in some way. Muscles are stimulated by nerves. When your bladder gets full a stretch receptor sends a message to your brain to tell you it has to urinate, then you voluntarily control the muscle by holding it and making it tighter untill you get to the bathroom. Sometimes women lose the ability to hold thier urine after they have been pregnant because the bladder nerves have been damaged due the weight of the baby while they are pregnant decreasing the blood supply to the nerves. This is kind of a general term.

It can be both, actually. Many people have muscle spasms in which a muscle involuntarily twitches and you can't control it. Also, there are some health conditions in which the person won't be able to control their muscles enough to grab something or lift their arm or leg. Also, if you have ';total, permanent loss of muscle control'; you are paralyzed. Hope this answered your question!
