My mother, who is 50 but in better shape than most 20 year olds, has been getting dizzy spells, almost fainting, overheating to the point where her body is covered in sweat, and she says she cant hear anything but the noise of rushing water. She recovers in about an hour. She has recently started taking diet pills. Could they be related?Sudden dizziness, loss of body control, impared hearing, over-sweating?
Could be the diet pills. Has she gone through menopause yet. Maybe a combination of changing hormones, and diet pills. She should really stop the pills and see her doctor. The over the counter ones are not always safe.Sudden dizziness, loss of body control, impared hearing, over-sweating?
I am suspicious your mom may have Meniere's disease. It is a disorder that presents with acute vertigo (sometimes with vomiting), rushing tinnitus in one/both ears, and hearing loss that typically recovers when the episode is over. Have your mother schedule an appt with an ENT and audiologist for a work-up.
Take her to the doctor for a checkup. He has a much higher chance of giving her a definite diagnose then laymen from the internet.
yes it could be. she also could be borderline hypo-glycemic. you cant go wrong with having a check up.
they could. but you should ask her doctor.
make sure she is eating right and taking daily multivitamins.
she will recover:]]
yes
