Explain why it is important for plant cells to control water loss.?

if the plants lose too much water, they will undergo dessication (drying out). They will lose turgor pressure and will wilt and eventually die. They control their water loss by way of stomata (little pores in the plant that open and close to permit involvement of gas exchange and water absorption)

Hope this helps
